Default Incorrect clue in new puzzle

The 4x4 puzzle with the crossword puxxle cause had an incorrect clue.

It said

Nelson got the right answer for 4-across

but the puzzle demanded the Nelson did not get 4-across correct.

I don't know how to be more specific.

Hi Grigor -

When this puzzle says "Nelson got the right answer for 4 Across," that means Nelson and 4 Across is a negative result (i.e. an X). The backstory indicates that you are looking for the one clue each solver got incorrect during the competition.

Thanks!

This is why the backstory, but not clues or grid, should be shown before the puzzle solving starts like on the old site years ago. The only way to get fast times on the smaller puzzles is to ignore the backstory.
