Scoring issue

I just completed puzzle #21842877. It's a 4x7 puzzle, and I got a time in the average range, so I was expecting at least a few hundred points. Instead, I got only 39 points. I suspect there's a typo in one of its scoring-related fields. Can one of the admins please check it out? Thanks

I just completed puzzle 22321683 with an average score of 415 seconds and only received 16 points. Can anyone explain this or have I simply been ripped off?

I've noticed that the score is fully dependent on 3 variables: your time (T), the top time (BEST), and the median time (MED), and 1 constant, the maximum points (MAX).

If your time is above or tied with the top time, then you always get the maximum points (MAX).

If your time is between the top time and the median, then your score is MAX * (1 - (T - BEST) / (2 * (MED - BEST)))

If your time is below the median, then your score is MAX * (0.5 - ((T - MED) / (MED - BEST)) / 7)

I haven't yet found out what happens if your score is exactly the same as the median. I would think that in that case, the score should just be 0.5 * MAX, but it's possible that it's a bug in the programming, and it just gives you the minimum points instead.

I'm sure that the admin would be able to track down the bug a little bit easier if people reported their time, the top time, and the median time when they have this bug happen.

Note, I do not work for puzzle baron in any way, I'm a user just like everyone else. I've just watched my score enough to have figured out the formulas

I just tried out your formula and it works. How clever of you to figure it out!
