Default Average points on the leaderboard

How does a person get an average score of over 1000 points if the highest score awarded is 983 points?

This is a very good question.

I believe the account in question is this one.

4x7 puzzles have max score over 1000. not sure what it is exactly, but i just had an 809 and there was a lot of room above the time..

updated:

looking back at other posts, i think that these are the max scores:

3x4: 80 pts
3x5: 180 pts
4x4: 290 pts
4x5: 410 pts
4x6: 760 pts
4x7: 983 pts

size is all that matters, not difficulty.

.bri.

updated: correct 4x7

That table is outdated. The max score for 4x7 is 983 and has been for a long time.

Yep. I believe that the others have stayed the same, but 4x7 changed to 983 shortly after that post was made.

Things certainly seem fishy when you consider the average time, and also it appears to be their first month in the competition.

Fishy indeed... not to mention that said user appears to have averaged ~12 hours a *day* playing--there certainly couldn't be many mistakes made with average scores that high even if legit.

Thumbs up Over the years

Over the years, I've seen bogus stats that were simply impossible. I even had a time with the new puzzles where my stats were faulty. I even stopped playing as it wasn't fun and it wasn't fair to other players. It became boring. That problem was gone when I recently began playing again. The others simply disappeared after reporting them to admin...

Default Average Points on Leader Board

I see my scores have been the topic of conversation!!
Firstly there is nothing bogus about me or my playing!
I cannot fathom why my average score is showing over a 1000 either
The highest score I have seen whilst playing is 983.
I had assumed bonus points were being added for 100% accuracy or that you gained extra points for complexity?
If this is not the case there must be a bug in the system
Although it is my first month playing as Ali1234, I was a member a number of years ago but lost my log in.
I see all the same players are still here though and at the top of the leader board!.

Ali1234, I don't want to accuse you of anything. It is, as you say, almost certainly a bug.

When I first joined, there was a bug where half of the stats it showed on me were actually mine, and half were some other person that started the same month as me. It was a weird bug, but the admin guy figured it out and corrected it. I'm guessing that something similar happened here.
