The URL to the game only works for your userid, so the rest of us won't be able to see your puzzle unless you post a screen shot.

Here's the solution. (The images are coming from a site album, so I think only registered logic-puzzles.org users can see them - not sure how that works.)
The interesting thing about this 4x5 is that the puzzle could be worked almost entirely in the upper three boxes. Here is the grid after the first pass through the clues without any extra Xs from the positives or transposing. To get from here to the solution just involved filling in the Xs from the positives, minimal transposing, and making more passes through the clues to fill in the rest. Notice that after the first pass in the AB category box, Doug and Nathan can only be 3 or 5 dollars. That means between the two of them, they will occupy the 3 and 5 dollar rows, and nobody else can be in those rows. We could have X'd out 3 and 5 for the other three people, but we didn't even need to do that. Last edited by zenobia43; 03-18-2013 at 05:57 PM. |
