Looking for clarifications for some puzzles
I'm just finishing the first book, I have the second one just waiting to begin. But there are some puzzles that I couldn't solve. I may be missing some clue or not being able to follow a reasoning, but I really would like to understand what I missed. Those are the following:

Page 97 - how to identify that from Scott and Derrick who is manufacturing and who is pharmaceutical, and to assign the AMBR, CFWT and HOPN to Brett, Derrick, and Scott.

Page 125 - How to identify between Carter and Julius for balloons (and sunset), and their last names and account types.

Page 127 - Distinguish between Darren and Trevor as first and second, and the haircuts that the only I could identify was bowl cut.

Page 138 - I obtained multiple possibilities that satisfy the clues. The June 8, 11, and 17 can also be 10:45 (Ephrata), 6:00 (Isanti), and 8:30 (watong) respectively.

I'll appreciate any feedback. I don't like loose ends. Thanks in advance.

I've got another one that can have multiple responses that match the clues. It is the one in page 147. An example of other alternative is as follows.

First Avery E Bowline
Second Sam B Half-hitch
Third Dustin A Sheep shank
Fourth Ashton C Sheet
Fifth Norbert D Halyard

If I'm missing an assumption please let me know.

Thanks in advance

The "Checking Accounts" puzzle on page 125 seems to be missing a clue. With the given clues, I am missing one negative relation in the Styles/First Names sub-grid.

This is a 4x5 puzzle.

Styles: Balloons, Clowns, Dogs, Horses, Sunset
First Names: Braden, Carter, Emma, Julius, Spencer
Last Names: Farmar, Garston, Lipton, Neville, Pollis
Account Types: Economy, Premier, Super-Saver, Retirement, Student

I modified clue 4 a little to provide the missing negative relation and obtain a unique solution.

1. Of Carter and Julius, one (Mr. Neville) chose the economy-level checking account, and the other (who didn't have the surname Pollis) opted for the multi-colored balloon checkbook.

2. Between Braden and the customer who chose the dog-themed checkbook, one got the premium-level checking account, and the other had the last name Garston.

3. Spencer didn't sign up for a retirement checking account.

4. Of Emma and the customer who got the balloon-themed checkbook (who wasn't Carter), one signed up for the student checking account, and the other had Lipton as a surname.

5. The customer with the horse-themed checkbook signed up for a premium-level account.

6. The retirement customer ordered the clown-themed checkbook.

I hope I got that right.

The "The Barber Shop" puzzle on page 127 seems to be missing two negative relations.

This is a 4x5 puzzle.

Orders: First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth
Customers: Alan, Darren, Jay, Matthew, Trevor
Haircuts: Bowl Cut, Caesar Cut, Crew Cut, Flattop, Mohawk
Hair Colors: Black, Blond, Brown, Gray, Red

I modified clues 1 and 3 to provide the missing relations (I hope).

1. The five customers are the one who was served first, the one who got the flattop, Matthew, the customer who requested a crew cut (who wasn't served fourth), and the one who has prematurely gray hair (who isn't Alan and who wasn't served third).

2. The second customer to be served didn't get the Mohawk.

3. Trevor got his haircut before Matthew, and neither Trevor nor Matthew has brown hair.

4. Of Alan (who wasn't served first) and the person who was served second, one has blond hair, and the other has gray hair.

5. Jay (who didn't have black hair) was served last.

6. Darren got either a Mohawk or a bowl cut.

7. Of the brown-haired customer and the one who was served second, one is Trevor, and the other got a bowl cut.

We would probably swap the revised clue 3 with 7 so that the Trevor/brown combination was still possible when we encountered the "Of the ..." clue when processing the clues sequentially from top to bottom.

The "Island Cruise" puzzle on page 138 seems to be missing a negative relation. The existing clues produce a result with a lot of open cells, but with just one more negative relation, the puzzle can be solved - and the solution will actually match the one at the back of the book.

This is a 4x5 puzzle.

Dates: June 8, June 11, June 14, June 17, June 20
Times: 8:30 am, 10:45 am, 12 noon, 2:30 pm, 6:00 pm
Islands: Barnhart, Ephrata, Isanti, Puyallup, Watonga
Activities: Horseback, Rainforest, Snorkeling, Volcano, Zip Line

I modified clue 6 to include the missing negative relation.

1. The five island landings are the one made at 8:30 am, the 6:00 pm landing, the one on June 20 (which didn't happen at 10:45 am), the stop at Ephrata, and the one where John and Veronica hiked a massive volcano on the island of Puyallup.

2. The June 14 landing occurred at precisely 12 noon.

3. John and Veronica enjoyed their rainforest tour on Barnhart island.

4. The zip line excursion took place three days before the volcano hike.

5. There are no horses on the island of Isanti.

6. The couple went snorkeling three days before the landing that occurred at 6:00 pm (which wasn't the June 14 landing).

7. The Barnhart excursion took place sometime after the landing on the exotic isle of Watonga.

8. The June 17 landing wasn't on Puyallup.

The "It's Knot as Easy as It Looks" puzzle on page 147, seems to be missing a single negative relation. Without this relation, I got two solutions just like mat100 way back in 2012.

This is a 4x5 puzzle.

Orders: First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth
Experts: Ashton, Avery, Dustin, Norbert, Sam
Groups: A, B, C, D, E
Knots: Bowline, Half-Hitch, Halyard, Sheep Shank, Sheet

I modified clue 5 to include the missing negative relation.

1. Dustin didn't give the first or second presentation and didn't give hands-on instruction to Group E.

2. The first presentation was about bowline knots.

3. The expert who worked with Group D gave a presentation sometime after the one who demonstrated how to make a sheet knot, who in turn gave a presentation sometime after the one who demonstrated the half-hitch (who wasn't Avery).

4. Between Ashton and the one who demonstrated how to make a half-hitch knot, one worked with Group C, and the other gave their presentation second.

5. Norbert (who didn't give the last presentation) worked with Group D.

6. The five experts were the one who worked with Group B, the ones who gave the first and last presentations, Ashton, and the one who demonstrated the sheep shank.

THANK YOU!! Modifying Clue number 3 helped me. I had already figured out the gray hair order. Still having trouble with Alan or Matthew/3rd or 4th/Black or blonde and haircut order (crew cut, flattop, mohawk)
